Jochen Künstler
Jochen got his start in filmmaking in the production department at ZDF German Television.
In 1997 he moved to Los Angeles to study at UCLA and learn film editing. In 1998 he produced and directed the documentary "Deeds not Words", about a wildlife rescue station, which aired on Discovery UK.
Since 2000 Jochen has edited a number of programs for acclaimed filmmaker Percy Adlon. Their most recent collaboration "Mahler on the Couch" premiered at the 2010 Los Angeles Film Festival and was released in theaters in Germany, Austria, the U.S. and Japan. Other works for Percy Adlon include the feature film "Hawaiian Gardens" and the documentary "Koenig's Sphere" .
In 2007 Jochen edited the Web series "Ed Brubakers Angel of Death" for Director Paul Etheredge and Sony Home Entertainment, which is still a popular staples on CRACKLE.com. Jochen's most recent feature film was "Josh - Against the Grain" for Pakistani born Director Iram Parveen Bilal. The film was shot in Karachi, Pakistan with Urdu/English dialog. It premiered at the 2012 Mumbai Film Festival.
Jochen is a member of the Board of Directors of the C.S.Brown Cultural Arts Center in Winton, NC. Together with his wife, Caroline Stephenson, he co-founded the "North Carolina Family Film Festival", which after a very successful first year in 2011 earned the support of a grassroots diversity grant through the NC Arts Council.
